Crofton Beam Engines Season Steaming Finale

Visit us for our last steaming weekend for 2024 on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of September, 10am till 4.30pm both days.

Watch our mighty beam engines pump a tonne of water at every stroke to feed the Kennet and Avon Canal. Meet our knowledgeable volunteers and learn more about our fascinating site and the history of our engines, the oldest of which was installed in 1812, the same year Napoleon retreated from Moscow. That same engine can still do the work for which it was installed, lifting water to the highest point of the Kennet and Avon canal.

Visit our Pop-up refreshment tent where you can get a variety of hot and cold drinks, cakes and more. Please feel free to bring a picnic, use our picnic tables and enjoy the wonderful views of Wilton Water and beyond.
